デ・サインシリーズは、1989年より毎年一本のライフワークとして
制作しているビデオアート作品です。現代社会の見えない記号を
Visual Brainsの独自の視点でとらえ映像化する試みであり、我々の
イメージによる映像詩的ドキュメンタリーです。
In 1988 Visual Brains inaugurated their yearly visual encoding
of subliminal signs in their Dé sign series,
which was awarded Grand Prix at Image Forum Festival
and has been screened around the world.
Dé-Sign Series
"Dé-Sign" is a team coined by Visual Brains, combinning French and English, meaning : "Of Sign". There are numerous signifiers in our visual and sound environment which are laden with meaning, or which have hidden meanings. Using symbols which are significant in Japan, the artists have aimed at universal vocabulary. Produced one year, this series of works is rare in the Japanese video art scene in that they are full of social criticism.
